Radical Idea: Learn About Pregnancy and Birth…Before You’re Pregnant 🤰 

This radical idea (sarcasm) is the basis for a course Dana is launching in Q1.

🚀 The TL;DR (too long; didn’t read) is that we’re launching a birth education course for young women who are pregnant OR who want to be pregnant one day in the future.

Why? More education about birth = more positive birth experiences = more empowered mommas 💪 

The context

For those who don’t know, after Dana had such a positive experience giving birth to Cali, she went and got trained as a certified doula.

Since then, Dana has attended 12+ births and has helped countless friends prepare for pregnancy and birth (objectively, she’s really good at it).

Here are 3 reasons Dana wanted to build this course:

• (1) Women are often never taught (or were mis-taught) about birth. Most women form expectations about birth based on:

  • 🙅 The rare horror stories shared by other women

  • 🎬️ TV + Movie portrayals that are straight up inaccurate

  • 🤩 Instagram and Pinterest worthy births that make it look like a walk in the park

• (2) As a result of this, young women:

  • Know very little about birth 😕 

  • Have deeply rooted fears around what it will be like 😨

• (3) A lot of women have literally told Dana, “I wish there was a course for women who aren’t pregnant yet, but want to be one day.” 🙃 

I’ve seen the content going into this course help people in real-time as Dana supports moms and their partners leading up to and during birth.

And yes I’m biased, but this course is going to be 🔥🔥🔥 .

What to expect:

•  🤯 You’ll replace common misconceptions about birth with…facts, real life and evidence-based research

•  🤔 You’ll know what options you have (providers, locations, interventions, etc.) and the decisions you want to start thinking about now

•  🤰 If you’re already pregnant, you’ll know exactly what steps to take to prepare to have a positive birth experience

• 🚗 If you’re not pregnant yet but want to be one day, you’ll have clear expectations and a roadmap

• 🧠 You’ll identify any fears you have around pregnancy and giving birth ahead of time so you can work on it…ahead of time 😉 

Tbh since Dana became a doula I’ve gotten second-hand passionate about birth (can you tell?)..

And I might be more excited than Dana is about the launch of this thing 😂
